SBI PO Informal Letter Format and Sample Letter

Address & Date:

Your Address

The return address should be written in the top right-hand corner of the letter &.inside address should be written on the left

Date:

Some people put the date on right sides of the page& some on left side but date can write on the right or the left on the line after the address you are writing to. Write the month as a word.

Salutation or Greetings

Dear Sir or Madam,

The most important way to start off an informal letter is with a ‘dear’. Since this letter is intended for your friends or family, there is no need to greet them as ‘Sir’ or ‘Madam’.

If you don’t know the name of person then you are commonly use as’ Sir’ or ‘Madam’.

1) Yours faithfully

If you do not know the name of the person, end the letter this way.

2) Yours sincerely

If you know the name of the person, end the letter this way.

3) Your signature

Sign your name, and then print it underneath the signature. If you think the person you are writing to might not know whether you are male of female, put you title in brackets after your name
